In winter, Lake Tahoe offers 6 world class ski resorts from 5 minutes to 1 hour away. At lake level, annual snowfall averages 125 inches. At alpine skiing elevations, the snowfall averages 300 to 500 inches each year giving the Sierra Nevada Mountains some of the best skiing conditions in the world.
